Local 5004 Negotiations Update, Friday, April 30 (Session 2)

Friday’s negotiation session was for only four (4)hours, due to the directive of John O’Dea, EH Labor Relations Manager, to nurse managers, to make no accommodations for the negotiation team in scheduling their workdays.

The union received the hospital’s proposals today. Although the hospital’s proposals have a deleterious impact on members, their introductory statement revealed their intent of getting an agreement without making many changes to the contract.

TRANSLATION – EH administration is not going to genuinely consider the union’s proposals. Their posture at the negotiations table certainly reflects their narrow-mindedness.
