Local 5142 Informational Picket and Meeting Notice
In Monday’s negotiations, management made little movement on our proposals, which is an insult to us and the work we have done over the past year. While we will continue to negotiate with management, we feel as a committee that it is time to take our message public. Yesterday, we gave management notice to of our intent to do an informational picket outside the hospital on Tuesday, July 13th from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. It is critical that members who aren’t working that day show up to publicly demand a contract that gives is the safe staffing, pay and benefits that we deserve.
We will be holding a membership call on Tuesday, July 6th at 8:00pm to give you a fuller update on negotiations, to plan for the picket and to talk about our strategy moving forward. Please call 503-300-6868 at the designated time and enter code 762715 when prompted.
We’ve always known that it would take a unified membership to win a strong contract, and we need you each of you to stand behind us on the 13th. Look out for more info in the coming days.
