Local 5004 COVID Surge Bonus Rejection

After hearing overwhelmingly from the membership that the hospital’s Covid-19 Surge Bonus is unacceptable, HPAE leadership has decided to reject the hospital’s offer. HPAE leadership asked hospital management to pay $20 an hour for the Covid-19 Surge bonus, but the hospital said no; what they offered is what they are willing to give.

Management is willing to pay top dollars to travel nurses but not willing to sincerely incentivize the dedicated nurses employed by the medical center who continue to risk it all to serve our patients and our community.

I urge each and every one of you to speak to your nurse managers and senior leadership to let them know what you think about their Covid-19 Surge Bonus.
