HPAE Local 5094 UH Negotiations Update, March 2, 2022
HPAE met with the Hospital on February 25th and was able to make some progress with a few non-economic proposals. The Hospital agreed to language that would protect members from being forced to work overtime shifts which is important for those units that rely on this practice to ensure that they have enough staff for each shift. In addition, they agreed to language which would clarify the process for members to request a salary review when they are directed to perform additional duties or appointed to interim position. There are also other agreements that are for housekeeping as well as miscellaneous issues.
HPAE is asking the Hospital to offer an economic package that acknowledges our hard work and dedication as Professionals. We continue to demand that we be given a fair increase which would include step movements or a higher percentage rate over 3 years. As a result, the HPAE Local 5094 Negotiating Committee is requesting that you join us for a rally to ensure that we send a message with one voice to the Hospital, “We deserve to receive a fair contract”.
