Local 5142 Bargaining Update, May 31, 2022

As you know, our contract will be expiring today. Given the imminent sale of the hospital, we are currently in discussions with the hospital about a potential extension. In the meantime, there will most likely be a period of time where we are working without a contract.

While we are working without a contract, all provisions of the contract will remain the same except the arbitration procedure. We must continue to work together to enforce the contract and make SMC the best hospital it can be for us and our patients during this transition. We’ll give further updates shortly, and otherwise please reach out to a bargaining committee member with any questions.
