5 key ways to get involved with your local:
- Attend membership meetings. These are announced via robo call and email the week before the meeting occurs. These meetings are a chance to meet your L.E.B. (local elected board) officers and bring up questions/concerns to be addressed in a timely fashion. This is also an opportunity for the officers to bring information to the members that may be relevant to your day-to-day functioning. For your information our next membership meeting is December 18, 2023, in the auditorium. Please join us in celebrating all your hard work this year with food and a gift! We are looking forward to working towards an even better 2024 together.
- Check out the HPAE 5091 website (or Facebook page) and give it a follow to stay informed for all up-to-date information.
- Learn who your reps are. This is key in case you ever need any help in a jam. Hopefully you’ll only need to know just to say hello and to network! In the off chance that you’ll ever need a rep it is imperative to know who to contact in your area.
- Become a union REP! Be the change you wish to see in the world and advocate for your peers while improving your workplace.
- Jot down notes as time goes on and when negotiations are upon us, bring these concerns to the team so that we can negotiate on your behalf. Even better—— learn how to become part of the negotiations team! There are key players during negotiations needed and YOU could be one of them.
