Important Membership Meetings Set for May 22nd
As we head into the last few weeks of contract negotiations with Hackensack Meridian Health, we've scheduled membership meetings for Monday, May 22, at the Homewood Suites, Edgewater City Place Shopping Center @ the Promenade.
Union Members Authorize Committee to Send Management a Strike Notice
With an overwhelming "Yes" vote, HPAE Local 5629 members voted last Friday to authorize our Negotiations Committee to send management a 10 day strike notice, if necessary.
We're Fighting for Our Health, We're Fighting Against Corporate Healthcare
HPAE Local 5058 members joined with community members served by Hackensack Meridian, members of CWA Local 1037, and NJCU to hold a Speak Out last night near the hospital to build solidarity in the fight against corporate healthcare.
CE Workshop on Staffing Set for May 24th
Our union is offering RNs a CE workshop on staffing Wednesday, May 24th, 10 am to 1 pm, in the hospital auditorium. Lunch will be provided.
Bargaining Begins at Hackensack Meridian Health
HPAE Local 5030/Palisades Medical Center began contract negotiations with Hackensack Meridian Health today. Meanwhile HPAE members at Local 5058/Jersey Shore Medical Center and Local 5138/Southern Ocean Medical Center are standing with Palisades members, United as HPAE @ Hackensack Meridian.
Strike Authorization Vote Set for Friday and Saturday
With many of the key issues still unresolved in the ongoing negotiations for a first contract, Local 5629 members at AAC/Sunrise House will be taking a strike authorization vote on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29.

Wanaque Member Update
As a result of a settlement with management, nine LPNs who had been hired by Wanaque before the new owners took over in June 2014 had their wages increased to $23/hour. That increase went into effect with the April 7th
Staffing Petition Signed by Over 900 Cooper Nurses Presented to Administration
Cooper nurses have just demonstrated that we are determined to achieve a contract which guarantees substantial improvements in staffing at the hospital. At a bargaining session, a staffing petition signed by 900 nurses was presented to management.
