Registered Nurses at United Methodist Communities facilities, members of HPAE Local 5107, have ratified a new contract that makes major progress on wages, benefits, safety, staffing, and workplace protections.
Last night (1/28), we had our final bargaining session with management. We reached a Final Agreement with real improvements in Wages, Benefits, Safety, and Staffing.
We resolved several key sticking points, including Per-Diems receiving the same minimum raise as FT & PT Members, increased staffing protections, RNs doing Supervisor Duties, and Weekend Make-Ups.
Yesterday (Jan 20), our bargaining team met with Management. We discussed Wages, Staffing, Differentials, Hours & Schedules, Holidays, and The HPAE Retiree Medical Trust.
Management increased their wage proposal to 2% per year minimum, with some people receiving significantly more than 2% in 2026. However, many experienced nurses would only receive the 2% under Management's proposal.
Management completely rejected our proposals to limit the number of residents a nurse can be assigned and to address issues with admissions and discharges.
Our Union Negotiation team has been negotiating with management for over a month, and we have made significant progress - but there is still a lot of work to do. Together, we'll get it done!
