Management has still not engaged with us on our key non-economic proposals (Layoff Protections, No Forced Shift Changes, No Non-RN Duties, etc) and is instead proposing to ADD to the list of reasons you can be disciplined or fired.
Management initially rejected our proposals for Professional Practice (Protections against Non-Nursing Duties, AI, Outsourcing, Mandatory Shift Changes, etc). We argued forcefully for our position, and we hope management will reconsider their position.
On Tuesday, 11/25, we met with Management for our first negotiations session. We presented our petition, signed by a majority of members, and then presented our non-economic and minor economic proposals.
We met with management yesterday for negotiations. Their proposals take away benefits you already earned! Our proposals protect your benefits and provide fair wage increases.
We have determined that management has complied with the collective bargaining agreement in offering a comparable plan. We encourage all members to attend the upcoming health benefits informational meetings and to sign up for a plan...
The Union has scheduled a meeting with Management for Monday, 11/3, to review and discuss the details of the new insurance plan.
We are entering into negotiations over VNA’s proposed changes to the 2026 healthcare plan. DO NOT sign up for open enrollment yet.
Every three years, we re-negotiate our Collective Bargaining Agreement (Union Contract). Our Contract is up on January 31, 2026 - this will be our first contract re-negotiation at UMC.
We met for our first bargaining session with Berkshire (Llanfair House), on July 7th and gave our initial proposals across the table.
Management violated our contract by paying some per-diems above our contractual rates. Our Union's position is that if they can afford to give SOME members an extra raise, they must be able to afford a raise for ALL.
HPAE has filed an unfair labor practice charge against the employer and our legal counsel also sent a letter regarding the blatant disregard of the collective bargaining agreement.
