HPAE 5089 members vote to approve new Rutgers contract
On Wednesday, December 9th, after five days of voting, the members of HPAE Local 5089 voted by an overwhelming majority of 99% to ratify our new contract with Rutgers University.
This is the first contract we’ve negotiated with the University since the merger with UMDNJ in 2013. It represents an important achievement in recognizing the value that registered nurse have brought to Rutgers since the reorganization.
We are looking forward to implementing the terms of the new agreement. We’ll share more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can review the summary of the agreement and read the signed MOA at our website.
This is your contract. It was made possible by your participation, activism, and support for the union.
Now that our negotiations are completed, we must continue to build on that momentum to enforce our new contract and organize against further political attacks on our rights so that gains we’ve made at the bargaining table won’t be lost in Trenton.
