Local 5089 Rutgers RNs contract update, May 23
Our HPAE Local 5089 Negotiating Committee held our fourth bargaining session with Rutgers University on May 23, 2018. Our next session is scheduled for June 1, 2018.
Below are the updates from the session:
- We received responses from Rutgers to our proposals from May 3, 2018. Rutgers provided its first set of counters to our State of Emergency and Discipline proposals. Discussions at the table looked to clarify Rutgers intent and we expect to respond to the University at our next session.
- We engaged in discussions regarding the Rutgers Health/Barnabas Health issues in an attempt to have our outstanding questions answered. Rutgers did not provide a response to our proposal regarding Public/Private Partnerships.
- While Rutgers stated at our May 3, 2018 session they would be presenting proposals today, they did not provide any affirmative proposals during the session. The committee was very clear about our intent to settle this contract as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- We briefly discussed the outline of a Clinical Ladder and plan to present a proposal to Rutgers to consider at our next session on June 1, 2018
We will continue to negotiate diligently with Rutgers until we have reached a successor agreement. We need your support.
