Member Update on HMH’s Mandatory Vaccinations for COVID-19

We hope everyone is staying safe and please continue to wear your mask, social distance when out in public and wash your hands. We could have never imagined over a year and a half ago what we have all faced during this pandemic and how our lives were going to be upended. We hope life can get back to normal and we can see our family and friends again. The Union was notified yesterday that effective October 1, 2021, HMH will require all team members, physicians, volunteers, vendors, and consultants to be vaccinated against COVID-19 receiving at least one dose of either Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J, and the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna by November 15, 2021.

Your Union submitted a “Demand to Bargain” over this new policy since it is a mandatory subject of bargaining, and we are waiting on dates from HMH to start that bargaining. We will keep you posted throughout that process.

Limited exemptions may be granted to the extent required by law for those who apply by the August 16 deadline and have a qualifying medical condition or religious/strongly held belief.
