Local 5185 Important Union Update, October 11, 2024

1. 401(K): Management has backed down and will match Union employees’ contributions up to three percent, as required by our contract.
2. CarePoint: CarePoint is very close to a final deal with Hudson Regional Hospital. It will create a four-hospital system, with CarePoint Running Christ & Hoboken and Hudson Regional running HRH & Bayonne Medical Center. There will be more updates next week.
3. Layoffs: The WARN letters you received do not guarantee there will be a layoff. They only allow CarePoint to move forward with layoffs if they want to. Our Union continues to demand NO Layoffs. There is no layoff list yet. Our contract also requires thirty days’ notice before any layoff. Please note that the layoff language in our contract has been updated to make sure ALL members have the same protections.
4. Rally: We’re joining our union brothers & sisters at Christ Hospital & Hoboken Medical Center for a “Save OUR Hospitals” Rally! Tell our leaders: Keep our Hospitals Open, Hold CarePoint Accountable, & NO LAYOFFS

   WHERE: Church Square Park, Hoboken(Near 2nd St Light Rail, Hoboken Terminal, & 22, 89, & 126 Busses).
