We won the grievance concerning the On-Call 4-hour block and are asking for everyone to be paid accordingly.
There were many noted pay discrepancies while the grievance was ongoing and we currently are asking for a timeframe as to when staff will be reimbursed for their error.
Moving forward, all On-Call RNs must diligently record their times and note the number of blocks (4 hour) if being called into work multiple times. Additionally, check your paystubs to ensure you are being paid correctly. If you notice a discrepancy, please report it to your manager and payroll immediately.
We have had 2 recent grievance wins:
- One for July 4th improper holiday cancellation. The ED holiday schedule was not utilized properly and all improperly cancelled nurses were reimbursed for holiday pay. The other, certifications that were not recognized, which previously had been, were reinstituted and these RNS were reimbursed and made whole.
- The MCH arbitration is ongoing. A hearing date has been set for November 13th. More to follow as we proceed.
In solidarity,
April Ferrara , President, HPAE local 5621
