The Nominations/Election Committee announces that we are now accepting nominations to represent Local 5147 at this year’s HPAE State Convention , as well as the AFT National Convention.
It has come to our attention that management is telling Per Diem Service workers that there was no raise negotiated for them this year. This is not true.
The NLRB has begun to distribute the money to members eligible for a portion of the settlement.
The new three-year contract improves wages, health and sick time benefits, and violence prevention
HPAE Local 5147 members, including Registered Nurses, Professionals, Technical Staff, and Service Workers, have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year union contract with Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus, NJ.
Our bargaining committee is sending a call out to all our members to vote on ratifying the agreement settled on January 31st, 2024 with Hudson Regional.
We spent a lot of time working on and discussing our staffing proposal. In the end, we presented management with a comprehensive counter on staffing that (we believe) addresses concerns from both sides.
We met with management for another full day of bargaining for our new contract. We spent most of the day composing a comprehensive economic counter proposal to provide to them.
On January 4, we met with management for another full day of bargaining for our new contract. We had a mostly productive day with good discussion and several more tentative agreements executed.
As you have likely now heard, we have come to an agreement with management on our new health insurance plan. We believe this plan is a significant upgrade from our old health insurance.
We presented management with several proposals on staffing issues (charge nurse assignments, conversion language to create more FT/PT positions) as well as some modifications of our proposal on terminal benefits.
