HPAE Locals at UH Kick Off Contract Campaign with Unity Rally and Picket

Members of HPAE Locals 5089 (RNs) and 5094 (non-nursing professional staff) at University Hospital (UH) in Newark held a lunchtime rally and picket today as a show of unity between the locals and to kick off their contract campaign.

State Assemblyman Tom Giblin spoke at the rally and promised his strong support for us in the contract negotiations.

Although the current contract with UH expired September 30, no negotiations have been held yet.

To make the process more efficient and productive, the HPAE locals are demanding joint bargaining on a number of issues, but University Hospital management is rejecting that demand.
