We applaud the administration for their announcement on April 14, alongside University Hospital CEO Dr. Shereef Elnahal, Essex County and Newark political leaders, to dedicate resources in the state budget to invest in a new building for the state’s only public hospital.
Rowan SOM will begin a phased return to campus plan beginning July 1, 2021, that will go through September 2021.
The Newark hospital is said to need a slew of modern upgrades, and it’s getting backing from politicians and health care leaders

With recent headlines highlighting racial and ethnic differences in outcomes from the coronavirus pandemic, awareness is rising about the impact healthcare inequities, racial discrimination, disparate opportunities and limited access have on minority populations.
The results are in! Members of HPAE Locals 5094 and 5089 have voted overwhelmingly to approve our tentative settlement agreement regarding the fiscal emergency declared by management last spring.

After years of underfunding, we applaud Governor Murphy and Treasurer Muoio for taking strides to invest in NJ's public health infrastructure. Our state can no longer afford to neglect infectious disease prevention programs.
