At yesterday’s session (5/21/2026), over 20 members joined our bargaining committee to give powerful testimony about the effect that unsafe staffing is having at Virtua.
HPAE Local 5105 nurses were joined by elected leaders and community members at a Town Hall Monday night to urge Virtua Health to agree to enforceable safe staffing ratios in their union contract.

We are holding a critically important General Membership Meeting next Thursday, May 14th to discuss and vote on strike authorization.
Nominations for the Local 5105 AFT Convention Delegates officially closed on April 27, 2026. Following the close of the nomination period, the local has received only one (1) nomination.
Management is realizing that we are ready to do what it takes to achieve our priorities in this contract, and we need to continue to build the pressure in the weeks ahead.
We did see some movement on our most critical issues of staffing and health and safety. While management's counters are nowhere close to where they need to be, they do show that the collective actions are making a huge difference.
