We are writing to regretfully inform you that Inspira has decided to close the Intensive Care Units at the Mannington and Elmer facilities. This is a layoff of approximately 15 RN positions at Mannington and approximately 12 at Elmer.
There is a limited window of time for the Union to identify and document monies that may be owed to members, including unpaid wages, benefits, and other financial losses.

On April 30, HPAE union representatives attended a meeting with Rutgers upper management and Labor Relations personnel to discuss the working conditions at UBHC.
There was no scheduled bargaining session for this week. The bargaining team is back at the table on Monday, June 15th. See the attached flyer for an update from our last session and links to attend open bargaining.
The bargaining team has given a new date to allow time for negotiations to continue. However, if Virtua doesn't deliver, 800 nurses will be on the picket line for a new strike date of June 23rd!
Management continues to reject any contractual staffing protections. Members again spoke forcefully about the need for clear, actionable staffing numbers in any contract we ratify.

After an incredibly frustrating 16 hours of bargaining, we still do not have an agreement on a contract. Virtua has decided that they’d rather spend millions to bring in scabs than invest that money into their own nurses.
